when I was in school i compare myself with those average looking gals who act sweet  talks like kids..  loaded with boys and always remains in limelight... but today after decades they are still busy in acting 😀 living dual life... and I am much better then them... Speaking from experience, I understand the urge to fit in and have someone there for you (bf/gf) but the reality even if you get someone pretending like this then you always feel the pressure to keep this facade, which is not healthy neither for you nor the relationship. So I advise you to be whoever you are openly, it may take a while but people should like you for you, not someone you can be.

I don't know if it will help or not, but I am a “lady like” girl, and I am the shy and restrained type, but my best friend is my opposite. She is the tomboy type, she was “one of the guys” and she was very popular for that. All of our guy friends loved her confidence, many of them had huge crushes on her and now she is in a five years relationship and still the same. So I hope you know the qualities you have are good ones.
