Anger issues in adopted child

Question

My child is now 6 years old and we adopted him when he was 4. Initially he was very quiet and subdued but we passed it off as him warming up to change at such a tender age. As he has been growing up, he's gotten much more angry and moody than normal and my wife has a very hard time dealing with him. We've given him our time, attention, toys, everything. It pains me that we cannot get him to happily accept our home.

It's a difficult situation to go through but try to be patient as he's still very young. Try to give him as much of your attention as possible so that you can build a bond. You can even get to know him one-on-one individually so that he's less overwhelmed.

It's hard to say what situations he grew up in as a baby so there could be trauma there which is hard to point because he's so young. Make him feel loved as much as possible.

Just give the kid more time. Make him feel comfortable and give him love. I know it’s difficult for you guys but parenthood has never been easy
