Dear Ma'am i aslo want to know that i had a breakup with my girlfriend and yes i feel low 1-2 days but after that i was completely move on and doing fine.... I was very happily doing my duties after that too

Okay! This happens when you are on board. Anxiety triggers at the most random moments. How do you feel now?

I m at my home now.... but now m worried about my life n career .... Feels like just in a fraction of time my life changes. I want to rejoin ship but am very scared now, what if all that anxiety things happens again onboard.

You will have to work on managing the anxiety. Can you write down what kind of thoughts you had when you were on the ship.

i was feeling very low and depressed. I want to go home as soon as possible. Before all this phase i hardly cried but during that phase i was crying alot n still today sometimes. Even i dont know what exactly m worried about.

One evening , I went for my duty at 6'0 clock as my duty was from 6 to 12, And that time i was feeling low.I went to engine room my fellow collegue told me that 2nd engineer (My supervisor) he was very pissed of on both of us and we will have to do duty 1 hour extra, as already i was feeling low ,by hearing that i feel like crying i went to washroom and cried then wash my face and started my regular routine with heavy hearted. While doing my job i was thinking when all this things will pass and when ill be able to go home n all...I want you to know that i have survived a more lot tougher situation( On duty for almost 18 hours without sleep) than i told you but that time i didnt feel this way. So if you think its because of that 1 extra hour then No it was not a problem, I never have any problems or complaints about my job whatever was it, i have done it. Ok so later that day when i went to my cabin after my duty i was very broked from inside. i took my mobile and message my cousin about how m feeling, He is also a seafarer he told me dont worry its just a homesickness everyone suffered from it and so on. I thought ok this phase will be gone after few days . But no, it getting worse n worse. I was afraid of going into cabin. I just afraid of being alone all the time, m not able to eat alone, M afraid of even taking a bath. My overthinking problem starts all negative thoughts were coming to my mind like why this things happening to me only, how i will spend my remaining time onboard, When i will go to home, what if got mentally unstabel or not able control myself. I am not able to call my family because it makes my cry and i dont want to give them any tension. I told this problem to My senior, All in detail. He also told me its just a homesickness, dont worry youll be on back to track after few days and he change my duty time. At first my duty time was on night so m unable to communicate with anyone onboard. So after 1-2 days i was doing ok. It felt like i ll be on track after 2_3 days more but no it getting worse n worse, i was crying alot even i dont know whats the problem was.Everything was fine, All my family members was fine, everything was perfectly alright. i tried almost a month to get rid of that feeling, everyone onboard help me alot. But i cant handle it. and i was afraid what if i became out of control and all. So i signed off from ship. Now m at my home m still feeling low maybe because of my career

I can understand. You have been feeling alone and you lacked emotional support. Obviously homesickness was one of the issues. I am sure you must be habituated of talking to your gf regularly that was also absent it made you feel more vulnerable and it turned into severe anxiety that you just wanted to be back home. Now that you are home you are again worried about your career- what now. Excessive worry is Anxiety only. We will have to work on anxiety management. You should start journalling your thoughts and try to replace them with positive ones. Try to convince yourself that you love your job and that’s what you want to do. Are you mentally prepared for going back?

No ma'am m not mentally prepared yet. I am scared, what if all this anxiety things again happened to me when m on onboard. I am on self qurantine, My corona report is negative but still for safety i have self qurantined myself. After my qurantine period m thinking of going to nearby psychiatrist.

You can do that if you think the anxiety isn’t in control.

Ma'am, Is anxiety a permanent issue?

All this things happening to me is because of a breakup? while i was onboard after breakup i spend a whole month happily. Yeh i was missing her butvi was doing ok. i was very happily doing my job. And i know from starting of this relationship that it has no future at all. But after i came home when i stalk to her instagram account, i feel pain. Even thinking of her makes me depressed. Is all this things happening because of anxiety?

Anxiety is very much curable and you learn the skill of managing it, so even if you feel anxious you know how to rationalise the situation. Your break up was one of the reasons and homesickness- being all alone, away from loved ones. All are the contributors of your anxiety.

Hello Ma'am, Good day. Today am feeling very relaxed as i got call from company and they told me that whenever i am ready to join again. I just have to inform them. So all the worries regarding my career, all clear. I talk with some of my close friends today about whats going on in village and all the gossips. Thoughts like why this things happening with me, all my friends are happily sailing n why i was not able to cope up to live onboard, Feeling sudden change in my life, It feels like my life turns 360 degree in just a moment, Why i even date her, my all friends warned me about her that please dont fall for her and i end up loving her. When i will get peace in my life.
