Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS):
is a common condition that affects the digestive system.
It causes symptoms like:
stomach cramps,
bloating,
diarrhoea
constipation.
These tend to come and go over time, and can last for days, weeks or months at a time.
This is a lifetime illness but is well manageable with proper treatment
Prolonged unmanaged IBS especially chronic constipation type can lead to HAEMORRHOIDS which may require Surgical intervention
Currently 20 % of IBS patients develop haemorrhoids due to improper management of IBS
Foremost reason of improper management is not starting patient on antidepressant
