Confused about being in love with best friend

My best friend fell in love with me, we've never met but he's a really nice guy. I promised his best friend to accept his proposal after 2 years but I'm not really sure about my feelings..also I've heard a lot stories where best friends break up and lose both love and frndship. I don't really know what to do...I need some advice :)

Communicate what you think and feel with your friend.

No one’s situation is ever similar so pls don’t have a preconceived notion that this also won’t work. What matters is how you feel and are you willing to put in efforts for this person?

Firstly, if you've never met, I think you guys should do that. Because you'll get a clarity and a comprehensible answer to your ques when you meet.
