confused about relationship decision

i m a highschooler ,One of my friends told me that they liked me and asked me how i felt about them. I was afraid if i rejected them they would no longer talk to me so i lied and told them that i felt the same way about them. We arent dating or anything such. Now my crush has expressed that he likes me. I m unsure regarding what to answer. If i tell my crush that i like them my friend might hear about it and think that i m a liar.

I Think you should clear your stand in the relationship or the person you are friends with. then express how you feel to your crush at the same time do tell the person about your current situation. So that everything is clear.

Just go to your friend, ask for some time, tell the person that you want to talk about something important. Express how you feel and what made you do it. Say sorry if you feel so and don't react in the situation. don't give too many explanations.
