im really fed up of my family, i was 10 when my mum got divorced from my dad, i've 2 elder brothers, one of them i really dont like him, but my mom always favors him, he was the reason why my mum got the divorce, he is 23, first my mum too hated him because of it but now he lives with us and she always favour him. im not allowed to go out of the house, they always checks my social media accounts, they restricts me from doing every thing . i feel traped, i feel they dont trust me. tho my mum is really educated (she is phD) but still says you're a girl be like a girl once she said we restrict you from doing things,because you are a girl, you will get rapped not your brothers. i really feel like crying because of this. she says you are the youngest, so if my brother abuses me or beat me i dont have to fight back , because im the youngest and we should respect our elders. they dont even let me sit in my room alone for a min. from last few weeks, i really dont feel like being with them! i dont talk to anyone nicely, i really use very bad words for them and i dont regret it. i have tried ending my life many times, since class 8th(im in 11th now).

yesterday was my birthday, i went to my mom at 6:30 pm and said, i was born at this time, my brother said , i never wanted you, i always wanted a brother. and at 10 am i got ready because i was excited, then my brother stared using faullanguage, that what are you wearing and all. they literally made me cry on my birthday.

I am so sorry to hear this, this is a lot to go through everyday of your life. I am sure you must be feeling frustrated. You must have felt bad about it specially on your birthday. Are you close to anyone in your family?

i dont think people will see it as a big issue, but for me its a really depressing issue, my brother is so old minded that, once when i was 2 y/o i was attempted to raped and few months back he said, you would have told that man to do so (he said, tune uksaya hoga use) i was literally 2. and at the same time when i tell my mom im depressed because of that my mom says im over reacting, every girl goes through that and ATLEAST you were not raped , so stop this drama.

This is definitely not the right way to talk, they are being insensitive. This is not the right perception. I think you should talk to your mom that your brother should be respectful towards you.

But you also have a say, you are a part of the family. Have you tried talking politely when alone with mother? Tell her how you feel. Discuss each other’s expectations and come to common point of agreement.
