Depressed after death of mother

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

My mum recently passed away due to COVID. She had quite some years ahead of her but the pandemic snatched her away from me. The person closest to me in the whole world was my mum and I cannot make sense of life anymore. I'm angry at fate and the pandemic for causing a loss that can never be repaid. I feel perpetually sad now and cannot cope with my daily troubles.

It's often said that death is a natural process and yes, it is, but it doesn't mean that we're not allowed to grieve. Let the motions flow through you, it's difficult to lose your mother. You will get better eventually but for now just stay strong and try to immerse yourself with life. Look at all the great impact her life has had on you and the other people in her life. I hope you feel better soon.💛

Hello, I'm so sorry for your loss. Our parents define our worldview and losing them is like free falling. Try reconnecting with your father and siblings though. It'll help you find solace in people who truly understand your pain and bring you closer to your family during such hard times.
