Depressed by being single

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I'm a guy in my 20s tired of not being able to find love and affection from the opposite gender. It's not like I was obsessed about love at any point in my life, but a lot of my friends are now starting to get married whereas I've never even dated anybody. I don't believe in arranged marriages so I don't want to go down that road. I feel so unlovable and uncared for. If this is what the rest of my life is going to be like, then I'd rather not live for too long

Hey, It can feel alienating to not be involved with anybody when people your age are getting married but it's actually extremely common. I can assure you that you're not unlovable, you might simply not be putting yourself out there enough. Try dating apps or just respectfully approaching people you admire. In any case, romantic relationships don't determine the quality of your life solely so avoid such misconceptions.

Being single in your 20s is far more common than you'd think. Also it can be a blessing if you use it the right way. You can build this time to develop your skill set, boost your career, and improve yourself. When you're happy and fulfilled in your life, you'll attract positive energy too.
