Depression after wife's death

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I lost my wife to Covid-19, she was just 27 years old. We had dated for years and struggled so much to gain our parents' approval for marriage, but I still couldn't spend my life with her. I feel broken and my heart is heavy with pain. On top of this my family has already started pushing me for 2nd marriage. I'm confused as to what I should do. I can't seem to focus on any work and it feels like I'll never get over this grief.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You shouldn't think about marrying again at all right now, you'll ruin both your life and somebody else's. It'll be painful but have patience with yourself, this too shall pass.

Losing a loved one is so difficult. Stay strong and try to remember all the positive things about her. Finding love in your lifetime is still lucky whether you get to spend all your years with her or not. Also tell your family to lay off their requests about another marriage for the foreseeable future.
