I don’t think they will have any problem if you try to tell them and give them valid reasons of changing your career option.

make them understand what your happiness is and they will surely understand...Also dont have regrets o any decision you take..parents just want us to be happy..Its not letting them down..share your happiness and they will be fine

i panic every night for the same thing, even tho i realized i just have to focus on myself and ignore what they want, i realized it doesnt matter what i do ill never meet up to there expectations because im not the child they wanted, im killing myself everyday drinking and drugs because without there acceptance of me i cant be myself, i figured the only way out is to move out because living with them is what keeps the panic remaining, you will only find peace with it once you take a break from them to a healthy environment where your accepted for you, youll learn to love who you are and do what you want to do career wise and have no critics to sabotage your goals.
