Heartbroken after breakup

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I walked in on my boyfriend cheating on me. We were in a long distance relationship and went over to Bangalore to surprise him but there was a girl at his house and they had clearly been having an affair. I was so shocked that I couldn't even scream at him. Why did this happen to me? I was so affectionate and loyal to him, never controlling. I believed he was the one for me. Out of everybody I've dated in the last, I never expected him to hurt me so bad.

Relationships are complicated, him cheating has nothing to do with how worthy you are as a partner. Don't blame yourself for what happened, he made the wrong move.

No amount of love and affection can stop somebody who wants to cheat. I understand that you're hurting right now but try to look forward rather than finding your own faults in the relationship. You will find love that's kinder. Stay strong.
