I'm scared of attachment

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I can't fall in love or make close friends because I'm always afraid that I'll get attached and they'll leave me. People think I'm rude and distant but that's not the truth at all. My dad left us when I was very young and since then I can't get myself to trust anybody. Any kind of dependency makes me very anxious. I want to get over this.

Hello, You had a very unfortunate thing happen to you early in life but there are good people out there. You will have to take a leap of faith to seek them out. If you never take a chance you'll miss out on wonderful experiences.

I find it very hard to trust people as well and for the longest time I just waited and thought somebody great will come along and change my mind but that's not how life works. You've to be brave yourself and extend a friendly hand towards people. Anybody can leave you in life but focus on the good memories you could gain.
