In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

General Query

I've a good social life with friends. At the same time I do have couple friends with benefits, due to which some people judge me without knowing the fact that even the guys with whom I'm doing it are at the same page where I'm. A Professor of mine who's doing PhD in Gender Studies cracked this news in my neighborhood. Though nothing happened as I'm an adult and single and it's my life to maintain relationships, but still she titled me. Even my partners are also at my same page, why only me?

Hey! Thank you for trusting us. I can understand, people tend to judge us without looking at their own self. Don’t let these things affect you. You are an individual adult with your own perspective. If it isn’t harming you you don’t need to let others opinion affect you. Can you talk to the concerned person about how you felt about it and you think it’s inappropriate of her to interfere in your personal life.

well, my partner is supportive. He gives his attention when i get anxiety and panic attacks, he respects me. but i cannot talk with the Professor cause she is older and it might harm my academic career.

I dont know. I am scared to lose anyone. I am scared of relying or taking favours from people. People starts taking me for granted.

Seeking advices and help sometimes is okay but don’t rely on anybody. It’s okay if you avoid taking favours but know that it’s not bad. Set boundaries for yourself and know that what other’s say won’t define your self worth. You know how to help them but in certain limits that people dont start to exploit you.
