Going away to a hostel is a big deal and as such try and be open minded

You will meet many people and not all of them are nice

Just try to find your own group of friends and from there you will figure it out

@ssboy I happen to have a very high tolerance level because I've dealt with extremely narcissist family members all my life so basically I can deal with anyone and gel with everyone... finding a group would be hard since I get along with everyone... how should I go about it?

For me I am a shy guy so I can't understand your situation fully but

stay away from those who keep defaming others because they will surely defame you when they are with someone else .. try to be calm and a little introvert... ignore silly people and silly comments they might make for u...best of luck its a different phase of life you will always remember... don't forget to make a lot of memories

Do fun stuff with a group of friends like going outside the hostel and spending a day with them on Holidays

Essentially you are not just making friends for now but also for the future as such plan fun activities

You can't learn any dos and don'ts for this. Go and experience whatever comes your way.
