My daughter is being bullied

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I'm a single father and due to my busy work schedule it gets difficult for me to teach everything that's going on with my daughter. Recently I saw my daughter's Instagram account and noticed that she had a lot of vulgar and hateful comments on her posts. She has been detached and sad these days as well. How do I talk to her about it without seeming too nosy?

Hey, I'd suggest you try to spend more time with your daughter so that she knows that you are genuinely interested in her life. Eventually you can bring up the issue and hear her out.

Bad comments are a part and parcel of the social media sphere so you must understand that your daughter is most likely not responsible for it. Just sit by her side and ask her how she's doing and let her know that you'd protect her and help her come what may. It should help her a lot.

Take a break from your work, take your daughter on a trip. It is u and ur daughter only. Have some good time speaking with her and remember, be a friend, not a parent. She may open up to share her feelings. This may make her happy and feel better. Good luck.
