you both are adults. if you both want it and you both know you can handle yourself financially, you both have to deal with your parents. remind them that the marriage is yours and not theirs to break over some petty things about "maan samman" or money or anything else.

I know this one couple... who did court marriage and didn't tell at home. stayed at their own homes like singles.. later, when the family tried to force the girl into a marriage.. they discovered she was married... a few months later they had another wedding.. with family and rituals and stuff

but you have to be very careful here regarding your parents since it's in such cases the girls are at more risk. you have to take the responsibility of convincing your parents and her parents. in situations like this... your parents might turn even more bitter because.. well.. ladke wale hai na... aur.. ab shadi huyi hai par ladki sasural me nahi hai... toh even more problems... it's an extremely delicate situation which you will have to handle with care and responsibility of not only your family but also her and her family.

I think I have to try something which is unexpected 🤣🤣, Like marry that girl and then came infront of everyone and give them surprise that we got married. After that they are forced to marry us again as without any issue.
