not happy because of MIL

today is my birthday. my husband planned so many things for me to make me happy. he is very nice. but i don't feel happy. my MIL doesn't seem happy, i feel negativity around her. we all live together. only because of her, i M not able to enjoy my birthday.

I have been there totally. No mil Is happy for her dil. especially if the occasion is only for the dil. mil ends up comparing her own situations with you. my mil sometimes goes to the extent of saying that I didn't get such a good life like her.. arey she doesn't realise that I have grown up in a different generation and our problems are totally different. mils are foolish. simply stop watching her reactions. Your happiness is in your hands only. no one else.

hmm its expected that your mil will be like that anytime. ignore her actions. convey thankfulness to husband in another room where husband is not present. be very measured in front of her . let this know to your hubby that you will be little measured in front of your mil
