Well I don’t know what to tell you but you should’ve a heart to heart conversation with them and try explaining where your coming from. May be this would help :)

Hi. Since you have made a decision for your self. It's important for you to explain this to your parents with your justification. Tell them why do you think a year break will help?.what will happen after you take a break?.what is the end result you are expecting? Try to express them all these points.

I tried to explained them ample times but they think firstly i should get a job in my field(engineering) have a work experience and then i should of all of this but for me i believe it would be like dragging myself for those 2-3 yrs of job

Try take stand for your self. It's your career your future .You know it better. Have a conversation with express how strong you feel about upse. Make a pro and con chart and try and discuss with them. Also. You have to put constant effort to make your dreams fullfill. Be persistent
