Scared of intimacy

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I've been dating a guy for about 5 months now and he has been talking about getting intimate with me. So far we've done nothing but hold hands. I'm 20 but this is the first relationship I've had so I'm scared. In my college everybody talks about sex so casually but that's not how I feel. I don't know what he expects from me but I'm not sure I'm ready for it. I like him a lot and I want to get intimate but how do I get over this fear?

You're still young and it's okay if you feel iffy, it's your first time after all. There's a difference between outright fear and anticipation. Don't do anything that invokes the earlier, take your time. If he's the guy for you then I'm sure he'll understand.

Hello, What are you exactly afraid of? Don't feel any pressure to he good at it from the get-go. Also, there's more to intimacy than just sex as your peers might've led you to believe.
