hey....i don't like people comparing me....but my parents do that every now and then....today when my father compared me to a girl younger to me stating that i should consider her my "icon" in respect that she can drive a scooty and i can't in front of the guests....i just gave up all my patience and answered my father back that i am my own icon...and nobody else is....did i do something wrong????

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. I can understand we often find it very frustrating when we are compared with anybody that too on the spectrum that isn’t important for us . In this situation what you can do is try to talk to your father about this and make him understand that you dont like being compared. Try to politely make your point and tell him how you feel and what you want.
