What about lower classes? Junior school tuitions? What is the duty of the tuition teacher? To teach or to make a child learn?

my brother did go to coaching and by what I saw I think the duty of the teachers in coaching is to make the child learn.

Thank you. I teach a class 4 student in my neighbourhood and her mother expects me to make the child learn everything. She never takes accountability and always blames me for low grades. I'm confused. The child has poor English because of which she is not able to grasp most subjects. Mother blames me and expects me to make her do school homework, and prepare her to examd

from what you told me, I think it's not your fault, you can make the child learn something but it's them who have to study and revise.

Exactly. One hour per day.. how much can I make her learn? She scored 4.5/20 in a unit test and her mother blamed me today.. saying she never scored this low. In the past also I told her that she should make her revise at home but somehow she thinks it's all upon me. What should I do? Should I tell her once again or should I refuse to teach?
farshy756
you should tell her to once again but if she is not doing anything for her studies, you can refuse to teach her.

I have told her during unit test but now she is blaming for the result. She scored fine in other subjects but she never acknowledges my efforts. Half Yearly starts in 5 days and I know she will expect me to bear the burden

I might sound rude, but you should just refuse to teach her, as her teacher, it is your responsibility to teach her and help her in learning, but it's also her responsibility to revise and practice what she learned. here she is not doing her part instead saving herself by putting the blame on you.

Exactly. She always does this. She is very shrewd. So I'll just go to her tomorrow and tell her that your daughter hasn't been learning this from so many days and I cannot do so much in 1 hr.. school homework, then make her learn spellings, make her learn ques ans, give her tuition homework.. I'll tell her that if she doesn't want to put equal efforts then she should send her daughter somewhere else. Is this fine?
farshy756
yeah, it is fine. but she might cause an argument or two I believe, so be careful.
excitedTomatoe7
It won't cause an argument. Last time she tore down 7 pages written by me (she was angry on her daughter). I got angry and sent her a text and next day she came and sounded apologetic. She is not much educated herself. That's why she is incapable and blames the teacher. I'll give it to her tomorrow
