unable to move on from a break up that happened because of caste issue

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

I had a wonderful relationship for 2 years , but the girls mother was gainst the caste , so she left me and it's 6months now . things have completely changed and I am still unable to move on . I don't intentionally think of her but still every time I get thoughts regarding her. I am unable to move ahead , can any one help me with this ?

Hey! Thanks for reaching out. I am sure it must be really difficult for you to deal with all of it. 6 months is a long time and still you feel for her. I am sure she has a soecial place in your life but at times we have to accept the reality. And cherish the good memories you’ve had with the person. Acceptance comes late but you will have to forgive the situation and accept what has happened. Acceptance will help you in outgrowing this feeling.

i have been trying to do this , yes i changed myself a lot but still old memories hit me hard and i start thinking of her and the level of importance i had in her life.. can you suggest me how to overcome my present situation and move on .

I can understand. It will take time, but you will have to accept it, you are still not over the guilt and regret. That’s why the memories keep hitting you hard. Accept it first. And try to set a goal for yourself and remind yourself that you have other focuses too to work up on.

zoya maam ive been improving slowly trying to move on but maam it feels like theres no happiness left dads getting old and weak , cannot see him like that and because of that mom and everyone lost all happiness and enthusiasm i dont know how to deal with it now its getting too hard maam i am getting serious thoughts of quitting this life
