I can't say anything much without knowing much about you or him since I don't know what was the reason for him to get physically abusive with you. Since you mentioned about abortion, maybe he's also stressed too about the unplanned pregnancy, but whatever the reason maybe, it was wrong of him to do that. If it was the first time for him be like this with you, that could be the reason, I hope he apologize later and If physical abuse is a common thing in your relationship, it's better you end this toxic relationship.
