Hi! Thank you for reaching out. I can't imagine what you must be going through. Being a dancer, having a back injury can be frightening. Not knowing what the future holds. We tend to attach what we do with our self worth. When that is jeopardized as it has in your case with an injury, it can raise questions about our own value. Please dont let thay happen. You are more than just a dancer. As you move on the road to recovery, please remind yourself of that. Invest in yourself by healing. I would also urge that you try things that will help control the symptoms when you are hit with anxiety. Try grounding, doodling or zentangles. These latter three are forms of art therapy that help alleviate anxiety. Try to surround yourself with loved ones. Are there other people on your life that you trust and are close to? Please dont give up. I know it feels like everything is falling apart, but you are more than a dancer and a girlfriend. With this in mind, take care of yourself, exercise self compassion. You will find that it is easier to sail through. Be your best friend in some senses. Finally, try and seek therapy if that's possible. A professional can help you navigate through this effectively. Please dont lose hope.
