confused about career and family

In the last two weeks our therapists have answered 211 queries related to mental health.

Career

This may seem like a small thing, but I’m having a really hard time thinking about this. I want to study abroad for my graduation but I’m too afraid to leave my family alone. They’re supporting me and they want me to follow my dreams but I don’t wanna leave them alone. How do I cope with this?

Hi Bells12, You are lucky that your family is supporting you to follow your dreams. Majority of people cant get that. Think this way, if you go out to do what you love and start a career, you can support your family. They took care of you for so many years, by this you will get a chance to do something for them

Venturing out in our own into the world can be scary. But it can also be a springboard for a lot of personal growth. Try to define your fears that are holding you back from doing this. What are they? Can you try and list them,?

Its one time chance, just think about what happens 10 years later, won't you regret that you didn't take a chance? If you study well there and get a good job, everyone will be happy and you can make your parents more happy.
