My parents don't support my career choice

I'm so depressed with my life. I want to become an artist but I'm parents are forcing me to do engineering. I secretly enrolled in a fine arts college but my father found out and canceled my admission. I've tried talking to him time and time again but he says that I don't understand the reality of life. What do I do?

Parents sometimes make the wrong decisions but they always have the right intentions. Show your father how you plan to build a career around the degree of your choice. When he knows that your future is secure, he'll be much more ready to understand your point of view.

Your parents just want you to do well for yourself in life. You need to prove your abilities to them so that they can trust your choices. Also you can always pursue art alongside engineering if things do come to that.
