I understand the situation as I too am in a similar situation where I don't or rather haven't felt comfortable with my father especially since my mother passed away 10 years ago I was comfortable with my mother as she was essentially non judgemental

With a male parent it is not possible to talk openly as males like my father are closed to listening to another point of view
